    Swingset Safety

    Children love to play. But they give little consideration for their own safety; that’s why it’s so important that you take steps to protect your kids.

    If you’re thinking of buying outdoor play equipment for your little ones you will want to consider the structural strength, durability and quality of construction of the playset as well as how easy it is to add extras to make changes to it as your children grow.

    You will want to make sure that the playset you select has no dangerous hardware like “S” hooks, protruding bolts or any sharp edges. Also make sure that spaces between guardrails or ladder rungs measure less than 3.5 inches or more than nine inches.

    Swings should be made of rubber or canvas. Protect little fingers by shopping for swings with vinyl-coated chains. Younger children should use swings with full-bucket seats.

    Playsets get a lot of wear and tear, so inspect equipment regularly; and one of the safest things you can do is supervise your children while they play.
